Alma Luz is Mexican by birth but considers her-self a North American artist, as she has lived most of her life in the USA and in Canada. Currently she is residing in Vancouver, BC and is dedicated full-time to the development of her artist career. She has exhibited her work in the USA. Her exhibitions consist of Digitypes (a mix-media photographic process she invented), conceptual sculptural work, sound installations and art performances. Her work studies existential issues of the human experience from ancient times into contemporary life and incorporates ideas and symbolic images from history, psychology, religion, philosophy, mythology, science and art. Some of her professional administrative rolls have included gallery director, exhibition coordinator, art archivist and manager of an online art gallery. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography at The Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon.
